Information

A protected natural beach with dunes and salt lakes. It is located in the Parque Regional de las Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro. Over here you can see how the Mediterranean Sea and the Mar Menor (Minor Sea) converge. Here it is performed the ancient art of fishing known as 'encañizadas' -consisting in creating sort of a maze with canes and nets, so that fishes get trapped- because of the area fish abundance.

How to get there: From the AP-7 motorway (exit 774) or the N-332 national road from Cartagena to San Pedro del Pinatar, take the exit for avenida del Puerto; when you reach the Los Flamencos roundabout, follow the signs for the Parque Regional Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro. The entrance to the beaches of La Llana is to the right of the port of San Pedro. After Las Salinas and Barraca Quemada beaches, you will reach Punta de Algas beach. There is an alternative footpath from La Mota beach, situated on the Mar Menor.
