The official presentation of the Cocina a Cuatro Manos (Four-Hand Cooking) gastronomic event took place yesterday. This initiative, promoted by the Cehegín Town Council’s Department of Trade and Hospitality and the Cehegín Trade and Hospitality Association, will once again position the municipality as a benchmark for regional gastronomy.

The event was attended by the First Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Trade and Hospitality, José Antonio Zafra, along with the President of the Trade and Hospitality Association, Rosalía Bastida. Also present were representatives of the hospitality sector, collaborators, and participating chefs in this new edition, which is being held within the framework of the Jubilee Year of the Virgen de las Maravillas.

Also speaking during the presentation were the Councillor for Culture, Lolo García, and the President of the Brotherhood of the Virgen de las Maravillas, Tomás Noguerol. Regional Deputy Pepa Carreño and members of the Government Team were also present.

During the event, the importance of continuing to support local hospitality was highlighted, promoting the talent of Cehegín's chefs and positioning the gastronomic wealth of Cehegín as one of the municipality's major tourist and cultural attractions.

One of the most notable moments of the presentation was the original dramatization performed by the local actor, Fernando Ripoll. He brought a cultural and artistic touch to the event, fusing gastronomy and theatre in a very special proposal that will be featured in the various gastronomic events scheduled throughout the year.

The Cocina a Cuatro Manos gastronomic event will feature the following schedule:

Sunday, July 5, at Casino Felymar: Rosalía Bastida will cook alongside Samuel Ruiz, from Bar Verónicas, and María Gómez, from Magoga restaurant.

Friday, July 17, at La Almazara restaurant: Laura and Carlos Ortega will cook alongside Juan Guillamón, from Almo restaurant.

Thursday, July 30, at Utopía restaurant: Gema Muñoz will cook alongside Juana Azorín, from Estirpe restaurant.

Sunday, August 2, at Matavinos restaurant: Encarna Gabarrón will cook alongside Pedro Guitrago, from Tándem restaurant.

Thursday, August 20, closing of the event at El Sol restaurant: Patricia and Ángela Molina will cook alongside Juan Antonio García, from El Churra restaurant.

The Cehegín Town Council has expressed its gratitude for the involvement of the Trade and Hospitality Association, ITREM, 1.001 Sabores Región de Murcia (1,001 Flavors Region of Murcia), the Brotherhood of the Virgen de las Maravillas, and all the restaurants, chefs, and collaborators who make this gastronomic initiative possible.
