Every year, as summer arrives, the port city resonates with the sounds of rock and heavy metal thanks to Rock Imperium, an event that has catapulted Cartagena into a mecca for rock fans from all over the world.
Joining the line-up of big-name bands such as Scorpions, Europe, Kiss, Deep Purple and Judas Priest – who have all graced its stages in previous years – this year sees Iron Maiden perform in the city as part of their ‘Run for Your Lives’ tour, marking the 50th anniversary of the band’s formation in 1975. The tour features songs from the band’s early decades and promises to be the greatest show in their history.
On 3, 4 and 5 July, alongside Iron Maiden, the line-up for this fifth edition also includes the Swedish band Sabaton, the powerhouse Trivium, the reunion of The Gathering, the stage presence of H.E.A.T, Queensrÿche and Lacuna Coil.
We will enjoy the commitment to local talent with a performance by Cartagena-based Triskel, the only Spanish band to perform at this year’s festival, whose music blends folk and metal.
