Paseo Carrión con C/ Cartagena • 30710 LOS ALCÁZARES
The sculpture dedicated to José Sazatornil, affectionately known as “Saza” and regarded as one of Spain’s greatest comic actors, pays tribute to the close bond he maintained with Los Alcázares for decades. Made of bronze and inaugurated in October 2016, the sculpture fondly commemorates the beloved actor, who was named Adopted Son of the municipality after spending more than fifty summers enjoying this charming town on the Mar Menor. The artwork portrays Saza riding his inseparable bicycle, just as he used to stroll through the streets and beaches of Los Alcázares, wearing his characteristic hat. Located on the Paseo Carrión, beside the access to Calle Telégrafos, it has become one of the town’s most iconic and photographed landmarks for visitors.
