Monumento al Huertano

Parque de las Peñas Huertanas. C/ de los catalanes • 30710 LOS ALCÁZARES

Information

In the heart of Los Alcázares, at Plaza El Espejo, stands the Monument to the Huertano—an impressive bronze sculpture of approximately three metres in height, paying tribute to one of the most iconic figures of the Region of Murcia. Created by Cartagena-born sculptor Galo Conesa, this piece symbolises the deep connection between the region’s agricultural traditions and the town’s maritime character. After being relocated from the Parque de las Peñas Huertanas, it now occupies a privileged setting where, as beautifully expressed, “the huertano and the sea look at each other, recognise one another, and remain united forever.” More than just a popular photo spot, this monument invites visitors to discover the true essence of Los Alcázares—a place where history, culture, and agricultural roots live on by the Mediterranean. A must-see landmark for anyone wishing to experience the soul of the town and take home an authentic memory of its identity.
